Drama-infused streaming news

Everything New On Disney Plus In April 2022. Looks Like The Intern Forgot To Add Content.

A new all-time record for least library advertised in one month for the FOURTH month in a row. Two Fridays fully skipped! Enjoy 'Moon Knight!'

The Bad:

For the 4th month in a row, the press release is an insult to subscribers that appears to have been rushed out without consulting with any departments other than the Originals. For the 4th month in a row, a new all-time record has been set for least catalog additions in one month. Somehow… somehow… they forgot to add any in-season episode batches. Or anything. The list is 2 library titles. They added 4 more, quietly, on their official press site. 6 library titles.

The Good:

Um…

uh….

Moon Knight is airing each week. Earth Day allows Disney an excuse to add 4 originals in 1 day…?

Um… this will all be over soon and it will be May so that we can do it again?

Except, we don’t subscribe solely for originals. The library is not there to fill the gaps in between. It’s unacceptable that we wait month after month for missing cartoons, films, and gems, only for Disney to give us a stick in the eye.

For the 3rd month in a row, we are forgoing our separate Monthly Library Breakdown article. Until Disney provides a consistent and reliable product, there is nothing for us to cover. We instead added some of our classic statistics below:

The Mini-Library Breakdown

ESPN – 4

20TH CENTURY – 1

DISNEY JUNIOR – 0

NAT GEO – 0

DISNEY CHANNEL / XD – 0

DISNEY – 1

ABC / FREEFORM / FOX TV – 0

RECENT SHORTS – 0

VINTAGE TV / SHORTS – 0

TOTAL LIBRARY – 6. All-time lowest since launch. Insulting, borderline scam effort

ORIGINALS – 9. Super solid. The problem is that it’s way, way, way too early in Disney+’s existence for originals to be the only they provide each month. They should have 800 more library titles in before they “slow down” and focus solely on originals. By then, it will be okay and most major gaps will be filled.

Mr Poppers Penguins is showing up on list for Hulu. Previously, Hulu has stolen Ramona and Beezus, Gulliver’s Travels, Rio, and more…

X-Men Days of Future Past, Fault in Our Stars, and The Book Of Life are nearing time to leave for HBO Pay Two. All 3 will leave before the fall.

Ongoing Bad Streaks

Additional Statistics / Wrap

Returning titles: 1 (Herbie Fully Loaded)

Re-listed titles: 0

Worst variety in history. Only 3 genres of library – ESPN, Disney, and Fox. ESPN is now for the 4th month in a row dropping a few ESPN docs as if Disney is admitting they no longer care to work to license other content.

As we said last month, we encourage cancellations and pirating of their originals (and when you cancel, explain the reason is you expected library each month along with the originals).
