Big Shot

I received word from a very trusted source that Disney is currently exploring changes for a potential Big Shot season 2. This is NOT a confirmation the series has been renewed. It's common for series in limbo to pitch the next season prior to official pickup. As the producers are exploring changes, it means the show hasn't been cancelled yet.
Today, news broke courtesy Streamr that Disney is running a survey investigating the low viewership in their criminally underrated, most superior original series - Big Shot (2021). Big Shot's finale aired today but you probably wouldn't know that. One of the questions the survey asks is whether people would have watched more episodes if it had been available in a binge format. This is where I step in once more and reiterate what I've been shouting at the moon since earlier this year. People don't watch Disney+ series because Disney+ is not seen as a destination for TV.
On the eve of Paramount+'s iCarly (2021) premiere, one can't help but feel cheated by what could have been. Lizzie McGuire was supposed to be the grown-up reboot of a Millennial favorite serving as a new streaming service's flagship series. Instead, Gen Z favorite iCarly gets to bring subscribers to Paramount+. That's one victory for Gen Z over Millennials in the culture wars. And heck - iCarly is how Paramount+ won my subscription.
On August 23, 2019, the internet exploded (along with the Anaheim Convention Center) at the news - Lizzie McGuire reboot coming to Disney+ - for her now grown-up fans! Of all the originals announced for Disney+, Lizzie's received the most fanfare. It was the most talked about new series, the most covered, and the one Millennials were most excited about. When Disney made the bewildering decision early 2020 to part ways with original creator Terri Minsky mid-production and then pause production entirely, fans felt cheated.
